What is PATBI?
Protection and Advocacy for individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury is a federally funded program
designed to improve access to health and other services for all individuals with traumatic brain
injury and their families.
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is an insult to the brain, not of a degenerative or congenital nature,
caused by an external physical force that may produce a diminished or altered state of
consciousness, which results in an impairment of cognitive abilities or physical functioning. It can
also result in the disturbance of behavioral or emotional functioning.

What is Co-Ad?
Co-Ad is Idaho's Protection and Advocacy System for people with disabilities. Co-Ad is a nonprofit
agency founded in 1977. We receive federal grants to protect the rights of people with disabilities
through advocacy and legal services.
